"The Osage" is named after the Osage tree, which legend has it is inhabited by a tribe of jinn. In some Arab countries, it is referred to as the "devil tree." Perhaps it remains mere folklore with no connection to reality, but here it is employed in a way that serves the idea of the novel. "The Osage" is different from the rest of the author Al Jawhara Al Ramal's previous publications, as its protagonist is a man named Jabran who is cursed with insomnia, driving him to choose a victim to kill each time in order to enjoy peaceful sleep for months.
